Programs

The programs offered at The Center for the Arts are innovative and groundbreaking, driven by the creativity, ingenuity and talent of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Center for the Arts allows artists, both with and without disabilities, to work together through a model of comprehensive arts and vocational programs.

Basic and advanced skills are taught in studio arts, media arts, ceramics, pottery, fashion design, performing arts and children’s art programs. Classes are held five days a week and are open to members of the community. Children’s art programming is also offered evenings and weekends at both our Palatine and Chicago locations.

Through community outreach and exhibitions, we strive to bring recognition to the works created in each of our programs and to contribute to contemporary cultural discussions about art and disability.
